Sungnyemun Gate, Seoul December 14, 2014April 2, 2016 Fabiano Maciel Experiences, Worth a Thousand Words Welcome to Sunday Pictures. My choice for today is the Sungnyemun Gate, in Seoul, South Korea. Namdaemun Gate (or Sungnyemun Gate) in Seoul, South Korea Also known as Namdaemun Gate, it was the oldest wooden structure in Seoul. In 2008, a fire destroyed the wooden top of the gate. After a five-year restoration period, the gate was re-opened in May 2013. The gate is very close to Seoul Station (Subway lines 1 or 4).
